MEET SHARONA SHUSTER

My career over the last two decades has focused on advancing opportunities for women and girls and fostering social transformation in the non-profit sector at the local, national, and international levels.

Most recently, I spent the last four years leading the fundraising, communications, and evaluation work at Lide Haiti, scaling and sustaining their budget by 400%, increasing their scholarships 800% and increasing the number of girls they serve by 50%. During this time, I also launched and grew my consulting practice, working with Executive Directors of national and international organizations that advance gender equality and transformative education across multiple countries. I have been privileged to work with such diverse clients as FUNDAEC, CRED, Mona Foundation, StolenYouth, and Abrahamic House, collaborating with them to strengthen their resources, reach, relationships, and results.

Earlier in my career, I worked to accelerate maternal health innovation in East Africa and India with Ashoka, taught graduate students at Georgetown University, and enabled ideologically diverse leaders to collaborate in tackling some of America’s biggest challenges at Convergence.

To the social impact consulting work, I bring a rigorous analytic mind to uncover root causes of barriers to organizational progress, a highly creative approach to strategy development, a talent for facilitating collaboration, and and expertise across multiple issue areas.  And, my many years of experience leading organizational learning, impact evaluation, fundraising, and communications with different non-profits equip me to foster organizational transformation across teams and departments.

As a coach focusing on women’s leadership development, I draw upon my years of professional experience advocating for women’s rights and gender equality, my work as an educator teaching courses on the empowerment of women, graduate studies in human development and psychology from Harvard University, and training in both coaching and improv. I have had the pleasure of coaching banking executives, corporate trainers working with Fortune 500 companies, and young women just embarking on their careers, focusing always on connection, compassion, and creativity to enable new ways of seeing, learning, and working.

I live in Washington, DC with my husband and two children and love gardening, singing, and long walks in nature. You can learn more about my background here.
